Kalliopi is a rock singer-songwriter from Greece.
A classically trained actress and singer, working in the theatre for many years, who followed a new path in life and got into the world of 'rock'.
Multi-talented, multi-lingual she found herself singing in bars and clubs in Greece and then in London, where she wrote and performed her own songs.
Her aim is to bring rocking power and pop sensibility together. Her music has a pop flavour with a punky vibe.
Punkish nuanses combined with raw sounding guitars.
Her sound has been described as reminiscent of some of Cranberries work, U2, as a 'mixture of Madonna meets the band Garbage' or 'Blondie meets Pink'.
Around the world is her first album, recorded in Athens at VOX Studio by Aris Binis and Theodore Darmas.
With Spyros Kontakis on music production and guitars, Alkis Misirlis on the drums and Barry Zealy on bass and backing vocals, she felt extremely lucky to have some of the best musicians taking part in the making of the album.
The mixing was done by the great Alex Newport in New York and the mastering by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound, NY.
In the last year she's been making videos for cover songs she loves and for her own songs.
She has just finished editing a music video for her song 'Till the day I die', shot on the beautiful island of Syros.
